FairTools is built to be cheaper and more honest than the “$15/month just to merge PDFs” traps. Light usage is always free. When you need more, you can unlock full limits with a Day Pass or Monthly Access.
Free plan – light limits
Great for everyday personal use and small documents. No account, no upload.

Billing & cancellation
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. After checkout, Stripe emails you a receipt with a “Manage billing” link where you can update your payment method or cancel anytime.
Your current status (Free plan, Day Pass, or Subscriber) is shown in the badge at the top of the page.
Refund policy
FairTools charges small, one-time fees for Day Passes and optional monthly subscriptions. Because access is delivered immediately and all processing happens in your browser, refunds are limited but not impossible.
Day Pass refunds
Day Pass purchases are generally non-refundable, because:
- Full access is granted instantly; and
- We cannot “take back” tools already used on your device.
However, we may issue a refund if:
- You were charged twice by mistake;
- The payment clearly failed but still shows as charged;
- You never received access after returning from Stripe; or
- You contact us within 24 hours of purchase.
Subscription refunds
Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe billing portal link in your email receipt.
- Cancellation stops future charges.
- Past charges are generally not refundable, unless there was a duplicate charge or billing error.

By using FairTools, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, you should not use this site.
1. Local processing
FairTools is designed so that all PDF processing happens directly in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to FairTools servers, and we do not keep copies of your documents or signatures.
You are responsible for the safety, backup, and security of your files and your device.
2. Appropriate use
You agree not to use FairTools for:
- Illegal document creation, forgery, or fraud;
- Altering documents you are not authorized to modify;
- Circumventing legal, contractual, or identity-verification requirements;
- Activities that violate the laws of your country or region.
FairTools does not inspect your documents. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the tools is legal and appropriate.
3. No guarantees
FairTools is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee:
- That the site will be available at all times;
- That processed files will be accepted by any third party;
- That the tools are free from bugs or defects;
- Compatibility with every PDF viewer or every type of PDF file.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FairTools and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or corrupted files;
- Documents rejected by courts, agencies, banks, or other parties;
- Business interruption or loss of income;
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use FairTools.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded, it is limited to the total amount you paid for FairTools in the 3 months prior to the claim.
5. Privacy and data
FairTools does not upload or store your PDF content. Stripe may collect and process your payment details in accordance with its own privacy policy.
FairTools may store minimal, non-sensitive settings in your browser
(for example, your current access level) using
localStorage. You can clear this at any time through your
browser settings.
6. Payments
Payments for Day Passes and subscriptions are handled by Stripe. FairTools does not see or store your full card number.
By purchasing access, you agree to Stripe’s terms and policies as well as these FairTools terms.
7. Changes to the service
FairTools may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time, including free limits and pricing, with or without notice.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. When they change, the “Last updated” date will be adjusted. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Why privacy-first tools?
Most “free” PDF sites upload your documents to their servers, log your IP, set tracking cookies, and sometimes keep your files longer than you’d think.
FairTools runs everything in your browser using JavaScript libraries. Your PDFs stay on your device. We don’t see them, we don’t want them.
